Mushroom Log Garden Border Yields!

In August of 2010, the Permaculture Design Course inoculated Alder logs with White Elm dowels and the logs were arranged as a garden border in the front yard at Millison Family Farms. In October 2011, the yield has begun. Permaculture principle: Utilize Edge.

Thanks Julie. Mushroom log inoculation is definitely a lesson in patience. But time goes by and then POP! It's like a way of marking the passage of time.

I am so happy to see these mushrooms growing!  I was in this summer class that worked on them and loved every minute of it.  This class really opened my eyes to another way of engaging with the environment.  Thank you for sharing the pictures.
